FAQs

How many treatments will I need? The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and we will personalize a treatment plan based on your needs and desired outcome. We recommend 3 corrective treatments, then patients will often sign up for regular maintenance treatments throughout the year. What will happen during the procedure? The procedure is typically gentle and safe. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take as little as a few minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. We will discuss all of your options with you including the benefits, risks and what to expect. What should I expect after the treatment? You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments, and the area treated. How long will it take to recover? This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, and resume most of your activities immediately. We will provide you with more information on what to expect as well as give you an aftercare plan to follow that will involve avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen.

FAQs

How comfortable is the treatment? Depending on the level of treatment provided, most patients find the treatment well tolerated. Before the treatment begins, we apply numbing cream to help ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. How long does it take to see results? Results vary depending on your treatment goals. For the day following your treatment, your skin may appear red and, and small micro dots called "mendz" will appear where the laser was applied. As the micro zones heal, they will darken and feel rough. Between days 3-5, the mendz will slough off, revealing the renewed skin beneath. How many treatments will I need? This will depend on your treatment goals and level of damage. Most patients receive 3-4 corrective treatments, then often will sign up for regular maintenance treatments throughout the year.
